Innovation Science was pioneered by Prof. Gideon Samid in his PhD dissertation at the Technion -- Israel Institute of Technology. It is the matching equivlent for James, O. McKinsey's idea for management. It says that innovation practice has generic attributes that are described by innovation science, and serve as a crucial companion to the science that is specific to the innovated subject.

Prof. Samid, offers face to face half day introductory sessions to the wonders of innovation science. The purpose of these sessions is to lay out basic innovation procedures that would become useful the next morning. Specifically: how to develop a credible estimate of cost-to-complete and time-to-reach an R&D objective. How to measure rate of innovation progress, how to move through 'innovation walls'.
