The quintessential construct of human math and science is the venerated equation. The left side of the equal sign is declared equal to the right side. See below, arguably, the 17 core equation of human science.

Is the universe ruled and expressed through equations?

Here is a challenge to the supremacy of the notion of 'equation': Nothing is equal to anything else. Things may be very different or slightly different, but not indistinguishable (not talking about double labeling). In Nature equality is an asymptotic limit to similarity. Calculus of similarities, strongly associated with AI represent a new bold direction for human exploration of our environment. In fact it is a bold step in our campaign to break out of the Darwin Cage (see link below).

The core inequality that lies below the 17 core equalities is:

n ≠ i for i=1,2,...(n-1)
