NIVDIA chips implement ground breaking inferential mathematics which gives them the oomph and the bang. But this is well veiled by claims of hardware advancements -- which are there, but less impactful.

Chinese AI leaped forward, not on hardware but on a new mathematics. This focus on inferential mathematics was pointed to by InnovationSP early on. It prompted us in BitMint to clear the table and develop a brand new approach to mathematics. Mathematics to date is "the mathematics of equality". We write equations: X = Y, etc. In light of AI technology we replace it with "the mathematics of similarity". AI is powerful because it exploits similarities towards its inferential goal. In the mathematics of similarities 'equality' is an unreachable asymptotic limit. Time ensures inequality: x(t) ≠ x(t+Δt) where for Δt → 0 x(t) → x(t+Δt). Any far-off 'things' X and Y, do share a non-zero similarity which smart inferential mathematics will detect and exploit. The inferential engine that will be able to reach out to lesser similarities and dig inferential goods from them, will be the one triumphant.

If the little that we have done has improved our inferential capacity, one can only imagine what the new and coming inferential algorithms of the "big boys" will do. My guess is that advanced inferential mathematics will dramatically reduce the power consumption of AI, making the current wave of energy investment into a bubble.

The problem with the mathematics of similarities is that it will soon replace the old mathematics of equality and it will get harder and harder for humans to track the inferential logic exercised by AI. This raises the risk of AI runaway. Which may be too late to stop anyway.
